The CIM Marketing Leadership Programme is a new Masters / Postgraduate level qualification for senior marketers which will replace the CIM Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing. Oxford College of Marketing are proud to be chosen by CIM to deliver this course in the pilot phase. Currently, the Marketing Leadership Programme is delivered by face to face and blended learning options only. Online distance learning will possibly be rolled out in late 2017.

The Marketing Leadership Programme consists of three modules, two mandatory and one elective; all of which are assessed via a work based assignment:

Contemporary Challenges (mandatory unit)
Leading change (mandatory unit)

Consultancy (elective unit)
Managing Business Growth (elective unit)

If you have already gained significant experience in marketing at a strategic or management level and/or previously completed the CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing, then the new CIM Marketing Leadership Programme could be the right choice for you. The programme focuses on applying strategic thinking to facilitate and implement change at the highest level.

  • Develop creative thinking to meet the challenges of the modern-day marketing environment
  • Provide the tools to successfully lead organisational change
  • Identifying opportunities for future business growth and managing the process
  • Build a successful strategic marketing consultancy

On completion of the programme, delegates can benefit from utilising the designatory letters ‘DipM’. The programme can also be used to work towards a Masters or MBA, representing 60 credits that can be used as Accredited Prior Learning (APL).

Entry Requirements

Most delegates on the MArketing Leadership Programme will have one or more of the following:

  • Level 6 qualification, such as The CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing or a business or marketing Bachelors or Masters degree
  • Evidence of experience at a senior Marketing Management level
  • Evidence of past, present and future career progression

Course Start Dates

The Marketing Leadership Programme can be started on any unit, so for classroom units delegates can start in September, January or July. Pure online distance learning is not currently available but may be rolled out in late 2017.

Pricing

Marketing Leadership Programme courses start from £1,765 per unit for classroom based learning. This does not include your CIM membership or assessment fees but does include study material and tutor support for 3 years.

Course Structure

The CIM Leadership Programme consists of three modules, two that are mandatory and one elective module. All units are assessed by an organization-based assignment. All delegates also have the option of studying the free Marketing Leadership Gateway Programme, which prepares delegates for the Marketing Leadership Programme. This is available as a two day course or online.

Mandatory Modules:

Contemporary Challenges
This level 7 module is designed to empower senior marketers to assess emerging market challenges and then to develop suitable strategic responses. It recognises the changing dynamics of the marketing environment and the importance of determining the key business drivers that will impact on business success. You will learn how to adopt creative thinking in order to respond positively and innovatively to market challenges as well as evaluating any resource implications.

This module can also be completed as a single award or built up on over time in order to gain the full qualification.

Leading Change
This level 7 module will equip senior marketers to meet the challenges of leading and managing change within an organisation. It acknowledges the requirement to build a robust case for change, based on the direction and resources of the organisation as well as considering the importance of corporate culture in sustaining change too. You will learn how to develop a platform to support future market responses and effectively deliver change within a business.

This module can also be completed as a single award or built up on over time in order to gain the full qualification.

Elective Module (delegates select one):

Managing Business Growth
This level 7 module has been developed to support senior marketers in determining the potential opportunities for organisational growth that aligns with strategic priorities. It provides a wider view on possible drivers of business growth, before enabling you to focus on a specific industry and your own organisation’s drivers and customer dynamics. You will learn how to determine the future direction for a business to achieve growth and assess the likely impact on wider connected stakeholders.

This module is an elective that can be studied as an individual module or selected as the required elective for the CIM Leadership Programme.

Consultancy
This level 7 module will assist experienced marketers in developing a successful consultancy skills, either as part of a larger organisation or as an independent marketing consultancy professional. It recognises the importance of building a defined consultancy proposition alongside a personal brand. You will learn how to assess client’s issues and respond to such issues through facilitating change and implementing agreed solutions.

This module is an elective that can be studied as an individual module or selected as the required elective for the CIM Leadership Programme.

Study Options

The CIM Marketing Leadership Programme is available via face to face and blended weekend classes. Pure online distance learning may be rolled out in late 2017.
