Student’s outstanding exam results exceed worldwide professional body standards

Leading marketing college, Oxford College of Marketing, is delighted to announce that Laura Horncastle, one of its students on the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) post-graduate diploma in marketing course, has won the CIM Best Worldwide Student Award for her outstanding effort in her managing marketing performance paper this summer.

Rosie Phipps, principal of Oxford College of Marketing, was advised by the CIM that Laura would be receiving the award because the quality of her paper had exceeded this year’s worldwide standards for the managing marketing performance examination. Says Rosie: ‘This award is a real accolade both for Laura and for Oxford College of Marketing. Managing Marketing Performance is a tough paper within the suite of four modules that students need to pass in order to be awarded the CIM Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing. The fact that Laura’s work has outshone that seen by CIM examiners across the globe is truly impressive. Laura has a great career path as a marketer ahead of her and we are delighted to have been the college that helped her to realise her potential.’

Speaking of her pride at receiving the award Laura, who works for a clinical nutrition business, commented: ‘Since finishing my CIM studies I have been promoted twice: firstly from a sales position to a new role as a Product Manager and then, just three months later, to that of a Business Development Manager. I think this illustrates just how far my skills have developed as a result of my training.’

Oxford College of Marketing, which is a CIM accredited study centre and celebrates its ten-year anniversary this year, offers training by distance learning, part-time evening courses, and an intensive weekend programme at centres across the UK. In recent years, the college has grown to become the fourth largest CIM accredited centre in the UK and to achieve exam results that rank it as one of the top performing colleges with 92% of its students saying they would recommend it to other people.
