Heather Major is a marketing and business development professional with has over 20 years’ experience in international marketing, sales and customer services within the language travel, education, publishing and retail sectors. Having spent eight years as an English language trainer working in France, Spain and Italy, Heather moved into international marketing and successfully completed the CIM Post-graduate Diploma in Marketing at Guildhall University in 1993. She worked her way up from Marketing Assistant to Director of Marketing and Communications over the course of her career. Heather is a qualified Prince 2 Practitioner, a Chartered Marketer and Business mentor for The Prince’s Trust, and holds certificates in Change Management and Training and Lifelong Learning.
Heather first became a tutor for the CIM for City and Islington College, London, in 1999. Throughout her career, Heather has delivered marketing, sales, business and strategic planning and customer services training to in-house staff, company clients, agency networks and entrepreneurs, and also at conferences. She has worked in the private, public and voluntary sectors and her experience includes commercial business development in the UK, Europe, Latin America and the Far East.
Heather is currently a consultant and trainer in marketing and business development, based in Northern Ireland. For the past three years, she has also been involved in delivering small business support via Business in the Community to help promote responsible business growth, Corporate Social Responsibility and economic, social and environmental sustainability within the NI economy.
