Kara Stanford is an independent Strategic Marketing Consultant, focusing on helping SMEs review and analyse their marketing, then develop effective Strategic and Tactical Marketing plans.
She began her career at LloydsTSB, Business Banking Marketing, working on a range of projects that included product research, development and launch; internal change management programmes and working with the internal Marketing Team to develop MarComms for product relaunches, promotion and sales.
Kara then moved to the public sector. As Avon Fire and Rescue Service’s first Marketing Manager, she pioneered the infant techniques of social marketing and implemented key Internal Communication strategies.
In 2006, she became a freelance consultant, working with over 20 organisations in the public and private sector, using process improvement, performance management, learning and development and marketing and communication techniques to bring about organisational change.
Following a career break, Kara moved with her young family to the French Pyrenees and took up the new post of Marketing Director of a small tour operator business.
Upon her return to the UK, she established KMS Marketing and was delighted to join Oxford College of Marketing as a tutor.
Kara is a Chartered Marketer (CIM) and Watertight Marketing ™ Accredited Marketer.
