Paul ConnorPaul Connor is Managing Director of Mycon Marketing Services Ltd. After graduating in 1975, he worked in the engineering industry with two multinational, blue chip UK companies gaining valuable skills in the commercial areas of marketing, pricing, tendering, sales and contracts.  Experience as Senior Business Planner led him to found Mycon in 1981 thus bringing his expertise in developing and implementing successful marketing strategies to other companies.  Mycon’s worldwide client base includes every type of organisation from small companies through to national and international government departments.  Paul has also fulfilled a number of non-executive directorships for UK organisations.

Paul’s membership of 6 professional bodies/institutes helps him to hone his skills and keep abreast of current and future issues in his chosen profession. He is President and a board member of the West Midlands Chartered Institute of Marketing.  He has served as a Board, Council and International Trade Committee member of North Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce & Industry, also chairing its Membership & Marketing Committee and representing members’ interests as a Director in the Confederation of West Midlands’s Chambers.  As President of Rugby & District Chamber of Commerce he successfully took the organisation forward into a merged Coventry & Warwickshire Business Link and Chamber of Commerce.

After graduating with distinction in MSc Marketing Management from Nottingham Trent University in 1997, Paul has lectured in Strategic Marketing on Nottingham Trent University Master’s Degree programme; for Leicester University in Singapore, Malaysia and China on two core strategy modules of its MBA programme; been an external marker for Henley Management College at the University of Reading on the marketing module of its MBA programme; and delivered the ‘Marketing in a Complex World’ module on the Open University Business School’s MBA programme having previously delivered International Enterprise and Challenge of the External Environment modules.

Currently Paul lectures on, sets and marks assignments as well as supervising dissertation students on Strategic Marketing module for the University of Warwick’s Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) MSc in Engineering Business Management. He is the module lead for Reputation Management and Sales on WMG’s new MSc in Service Management and Design.
