News Release Oxford College of Marketing

Along with pod casts Oxford College of Marketing have now added a series of videos to their  CIM ( Chartered Institute of Marketing) teaching materials.

Rosie Phipps (Principal) says, "over the last year we have been using pod casts to supplement our teaching materials. We now have a full series of pod casts covering all our lectures so that students can read and prepare ahead on all subjects. This facility has been welcomed by our students all over the world and allows them to make a close connection with the college; we are now planning to offer students videos as well."

For the last year Oxford College of Marketing has been using pod casting to supplement their student materials. This facility has been of great benefit to their distance learning students and to their part time evening students who are unable to get to a tutorial session. Pod casts for all lectures are available on their student learning system Blackboard.

The college is now investing heavily in teaching videos. The first series of videos has now been released and have been well reviewed.
Tutors will be able to supplement their own lectures by using material presented by FTSE 100 guru Professor Malcolm McDonald. The first set of videoed lectures cover market segmentation, marketing planning, key account management and marketing accountability.

The use of up to date technology is a key part of the colleges' investment. Oxford College of Marketing has been using Blackboard since it first came out and all the teaching materials are available on line. The benefits are enormous as it means that tutors get all their material created for them by Oxford College of Marketing, students get the same material on line all over the world and employers who are paying for these courses are also able to read, listen and see what their employees as learning. This open system and transparent approach that is able to include students and employers into one system can only improve marketing standards all over the world.

With an overall 87% pass rate and a 92% student satisfaction  in the last exams, this approach appears to be working well.
