The Certificate in Professional & Digital Marketing is suitable for those in junior marketing roles or those looking to move into the field. This Level 4 qualification provides a detailed understanding of marketing at a tactical level, encompassing fundamental principles, responsible practices and campaign planning.

The CIM Certificate takes approximately 12 months to complete and upon completion, you will be eligible to study the Level 6 Diploma. You will have developed the skills to plan effective marketing campaigns and ensure socially responsible practices within marketing activities.

What’s Involved

To gain the Certificate in Professional & Digital Marketing, you will need to complete four modules. There are two route you can take to completing your qualification, depending on the combination of modules you choose.

CIM Certificate Route

Marketing Impact (mandatory module)

This module focuses on the role of marketing in an organisation. You will cover key fundamental concepts, exploring the marketing environment, digital-age consumer behaviour, market research, and planning processes.

Responsible Marketing (elective module)

This module explores the growing importance of responsible marketing, highlighting the scrutiny on brands regarding diversity, inclusion, and sustainability.

Planning Integrated Campaigns (elective module)

This module will give you the knowledge and skills to craft integrated marketing campaigns across diverse channels, assessing their effectiveness.

Content Marketing (elective module)

This module explores the importance on marketing content for digital and how to successfully create content to support marketing goals and support audience needs.

Search Engine Optimisation (elective module)

The Search Engine Optimisation module focuses on the importance of search engine marketing as part of an organisation’s marketing activities, learning about both paid search and SEO best practices.

Social Media Marketing (elective module)

This module will develop your knowledge and skills to create effective social media activities, utilising a range of social media channels and producing suitable content to support marketing goals.

MarTech (elective module)

This module explores how MarTech, including AI, can be used across the customer journey to support the marketing activities and building customer relationships.

Certificate in Professional and Digital Marketing Syllabus

Each CIM Certificate module is assessed by an online multiple-choice exam. Each test lasts 2 hours and consists of 75 questions. The pass mark is 60%.

The Certificate in Professional Marketing is a Level 4 qualification equivalent to a foundation degree. We recommend that you have one of the following requirements before studying at this level:
