The CIM Digital Diploma in Professional Marketing is a level 6 (degree level) qualification and is the CIM professional standard in Digital Marketing.

If you have already completed the CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing, with the Digital Strategy elective, you will have an exemption for the Digital Strategy unit of the CIM Digital Diploma in Professional Marketing. This means you can gain the CIM Digital Diploma in Professional Marketing by completing only two assignment-based units.

The CIM have updated their syllabus for September 2019. For details regarding the new syllabus please go to The Diploma in Professional Digital Marketing. The current syllabus is valid until the December 2020 assessment board. If you are part way through your qualification, it may be possible for you to transfer to the new syllabus. Digital Strategy

This Level 6 award provides insight into how organisations can implement digital marketing capabilities into strategic marketing planning. It outlines how an understanding and analysis of the macro and micro-environments can enable organisations to assess the impact of the disruptive digital landscape in delivering objectives, in order to develop strategic recommendations. It provides recognition of how creating digital marketing mixes can enable organisations to respond with agility to market needs. It examines how the management of digital channels and the application of key digital measures help to achieve business objectives.

Driving Digital Experience

This unit will enable you to understand how to develop and implement digital strategy as part of a marketing plan. You will learn how to successfully undertake an audit of the disruptive digital marketing environment and the strategic implications in delivering organisational objectives. The module will provide you will the skills to develop strategic recommendations as well as a suitable digital marketing mix. Finally, you will learn how to implement the recommended strategy and how to measure success.

Managing Digital Channels

This module will provide you with an in-depth knowledge of digital channels at a strategic level. It is designed to enhance your knowledge and skills in assessing and selecting the right digital channels as well as how they can be managed in practice. You will learn how to create a plan to successfully optimise digital channels as well as how to measure any improvement on ROI.

Entry Requirements

The Digital Diploma in Professional Marketing is a degree level qualification and is designed for marketers who are working at a strategic level or wish to move up to working at a strategic level. Most delegates at this level are graduates, hold a degree equivalent qualification or have previously completed the CIM Certificate in Professional Marketing. It is also very useful for delegates to have at least two years of marketing experience and are working in a marketing environment. For delegates who have not studied marketing before, or wish to revise basic marketing theory, Oxford College of Marketing has developed a two-day intensive course (available face to face or online) which is available free of charge. The Digital Diploma in Professional Marketing modules can be studied in any order. For classroom-based courses, delegates can start in September, January, April and July, while online distance learning can be started at any time.

Study Options

The Digital Diploma in Professional Marketing is available via intensive weekends combined with distance learning, part time weekly classes and via online distance learning.
