The CIPR Foundation is an ideal entry level qualification for aspiring PR professionals. It is also suited to individuals who already have some experience in PR and are looking to consolidate their skills and knowledge through an accredited, professional qualification.

Upon completing this qualification, learners will be able to:

  • Create content for written and audio-visual platforms that will engage stakeholders

  • Identify and prioritise different audience groups and channels, and justify those choices in the context of building relationships between an organisation and its stakeholders

  • Explain how PR helps to support different organisational objectives, and how it works with related disciplines such as marketing communications and advertising

Distance Learning

  • Virtual Classes £750 +VAT
  • Face-to-face Learning £850 +VAT
  • Not Including CIPR Fees

Upon completing this level 3 qualification (similar to A level standard), delegates will be well placed to move into entry level PR roles or to communications and marketing roles where PR forms a key element of the role.

The CIPR Foundation Award in PR can be studied through online distance learning or virtual classes and takes between 3 and 6 months to complete. Classes start throughout the year.

Free Project Management Qualification

All delegates who choose to undertake their CIM or CIPR qualifications with us, will have the option of studying a free project management qualification as well. Delegates can choose between either the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification* (PFQ), the AgilePM Foundation or the PRINCE2 Foundation.

These courses provide a great introduction to project management skills, which tie in nicely to wider public relations roles. If you would like to gain the full project management qualification, you will just need to pay the assessment and/or book fees associated with your chosen course.

*Please note this offer is not open to ELCAS funded learners.

Course Structure

The CIPR Foundation is composed of two key development areas:

  • Development of core knowledge and skills in creating content for both traditional and digital media platforms

  • Development of understanding the role that the PR professional plays within the organisation and how this role integrates with other departments within the organisation

The CIPR Foundation Award in PR is assessed through one assignment with two elements:
