With over 20 years’ experience in industry, David has held senior positions in a diverse range of B2B companies, ranging from SMEs through to large global corporations. Whilst predominantly working as a marketer, his experience extends to project management and business analysis.
To spend less time on planes and more time with his family, David moved into the Higher Education sector in 2017 as a Senior Teaching Fellow in Marketing at Birmingham City University, where he is now the Course Director for all the marketing courses within the Business School. He continues to work closely with industry as part of government-funded Knowledge Transfer Partnerships.
In addition to his ‘day job’, David has worked as a Visiting Lecturer for more than 10 years, teaching on a range of CIM modules across levels 4, 6 and 7; he has worked with the Oxford College of Marketing for much of that time. A glutton for punishment, he is also the Chair of Governors at his children’s primary school!
David holds a degree in Economics, the CIM Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing (Level 7), an MSc in Marketing and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. His areas of interest include marketing strategy, project management, business analysis, sustainable business, and professional development. Most of all, he likes to play, and talk about his large collection of guitars…
