How do you set yourself apart and make sure your ideas are heard? The answer lies in effective communication. Great ideas only gain traction when you can share them clearly and with impact.

This three-part masterclass will give you an introduction to key communication skills. We’ll touch on practical techniques to help you put your message across more clearly, be heard more often, and gain greater agreement.

Alongside general communication techniques, the sessions will also explore specific challenges such as handling difficult conversations, managing different personalities and working effectively with power and influence.

Week 2 – Conveying Needs, Requirements and Opinions

We’ll introduce techniques to help you express your needs, requirements and opinions so they’re more likely to be heard. You’ll also begin to explore how others communicate, how to interpret their approach and how to adapt your response. We’ll touch on different forms of influence and power and how to recognise and respond to them.

Week 3 – Applying communications skills in daily situations

We’ll consider how communication plays out in daily scenarios, from managing conflict to handling tricky conversations. You’ll be introduced to strategies for using negotiation in discussions and for navigating challenging people and situations more effectively.

Your Trainer: Jack Roberts

Jack Roberts worked in organisations for over 35 years in operational, management, consultancy and training roles and also has an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy. He is able to blend the softer, essential skills of working with people with an understanding of the practical requirements of running a business or organisation. This isn’t theoretical knowledge, this is the hard-edged reality of what happens when working with difficult people, for example, or managing a conflict.

Working successfully with people needs an understanding of them. As a trainer, mentor and coach as well as experienced marketer and project manager, that’s what Jack is able to bring in both a group and one-to-one setting.
