“Copywriting? How hard can it be? String some words together. Add potential SEO hits. Scribble a headline. Scatter buzz words. Pour in some info. Add more words, just in case. Job done.”

But that’s not the case. Copywriting is a company’s voice. It’s the art and science of creating the right content (it’s not always about words) to connect and make the audience get your brand.

This career-boosting introductory workshop is aimed at beginners and professionals alike. We’ll cover fundamental content writing techniques and how to stay clear of pitfalls.

Your Trainer: Ulrika Kuoppa-Jones

Ulrika Kuoppa-Jones is a journalist, content designer and digital copywriter. Her name is what it is due to a Swedish mum, Finnish dad and a British husband.

Ulrika started off editing newspaper headlines 30 or so years ago on waxed paper with a scalpel. Now she’s operating digitally on award-winning user experience content for companies like Lloyds Banking Group, Visa, Google, Virgin Media, Bosch, Vanguard and Scottish Widows. She’s also worked as a researcher and reporter for 8 years at the most popular daily TV show in Sweden, watched by an incredible 15 percent of the Swedish population.

Ulrika is passionate about creating content that doesn’t just fit into a box, be it for chatbots, social media, emails or video scripts. After more than 10 years as a copywriter and content designer, she writes short, snappy and engaging. She hates gobbledygook and is a firm advocate of Plain English. Because our audience is full of unique people. Some never finished school. Some use their second language. Some are dyslexics. And everyone is busy.
