This beginner-friendly course introduces marketers to the fundamentals of Public Relations. Participants will explore what PR is, what it can achieve and how best to do this. It will equip them with the essential skills needed to manage PR activity with confidence.

During three interactive one-hour weekly sessions, they will learn how to draft a compelling press release, best practise for liaising with the media and how to demonstrate the value of PR activity to clients and stakeholders.

Week 2: Writing for the Media

  • Understand what the media want and need from PR professionals

  • Learn techniques for writing a clear and succinct press release
  • Use layout and formatting to make all interactions compelling
  • Learn how to successfully pitch to media

Week 3: Showing value

  • Communicate PR activity to clients in a clear, structured
  • Demonstrate the value and impact of PR beyond outputs

Izzy is a communications skills trainer. She is a senior comms professional having been in the industry for over 15 years, working both agency-side and as Head of Communications & Partnerships for Williams F1.
