Through this Level 3 qualification, you will gain fundamental knowledge in both traditional and digital marketing essentials.

Depending on your elective module, you’ll either focus on content marketing channels, like social media and websites, or marketing research and consumer insights. If you choose to study both elective modules, you will receive the CIM Extended Foundation Certificate in Professional & Digital Marketing and both qualifications can be completed in just six months, enabling you to progress to the Certificate in Professional Marketing. 

The Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Professional & Digital Marketing also carries UCAS points, with up to 24 points available depending on the grade you achieve.

To gain the Foundation Certificate in Professional & Digital Marketing, you will need to complete two modules. There are two route you can take to completing your qualification, depending on the combination of modules you choose.

CIM Foundation Route

Marketing Essentials (mandatory module)

Marketing Essentials covers the fundamentals of marketing, including key terminology, consumer behaviour, and marketing’s role in organisations. You will gain insights into the marketing environment and learn about the marketing mix components.

Content and Channels (elective module)

The Content and Channels module explores content creation and distribution channels in marketing. You will identify suitable communication channels for marketing activities, align content with business goals and target audiences.

Marketing Insights (elective module)

Marketing Insights focuses on marketing research and customer insights, emphasising their role in decision-making. You will gain an understanding of research types, methods, and their application in monitoring marketing trends.

To gain the Foundation Certificate in Professional & Digital Marketing, you will need to complete all three modules. You will receive a 10% discount on this additional module.

Foundation Certificate in Professional and Digital Marketing Syllabus

Each CIM Foundation Certificate module is assessed by an online multiple-choice exam. Each test lasts 90-minues and consists of 50 questions. The pass mark is 60%.

The Foundation Certificate in Professional & Digital Marketing is a Level 3 qualification designed for beginners. There are no formal entry requirements for undertaking this qualification.
